Information we collect from you

To register attendees to our events

When you use our Website, you are presented with an opportunity to register for the events of the NEAR community. For the registration, we will ask you for your first and last name, email address, and phone number.

We will use the information you provide during the registration process in order to:

  • reserve a place for you at the event(s) you requested to attend;
  • provide you with information about the event(s) for which you have registered, such as event updates, and possible changes, cancellations or similar information;
  • contact you with information about an event you’re attending as we need to use your details for planning, logistics and general administration of your attendance;
  • fulfil and monitor our legal responsibilities, for example, under public safety legislation;
  • send you marketing or promotional materials for similar events, news, and services we provide.

We use your information to facilitate the event management process, provide you with the help and guidance you might need, and marketing of our future events and other related services.  The applied legal basis for this is your and our legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6.1.f).

Collecting job applications

When you use our Website, you will be able to apply for some of the vacancies that we have posted. For this, you might provide us with some of your personal information, namely - your name, email address, phone number, and CV.

The job applications posted on our Website are provided voluntarily by other companies and recruiters, and we only take the role of job aggregator which shares with them the personal information we receive from you.

The applied legal basis for this activity is our legitimate interest to provide assistance to the applicants and connect them with potential employers (GDPR Art. 6.1.f).

Other data collection activities on the Website

We collect and process analytics cookies deployed via the Google Analytics solution in order to better understand how you interact with our Website. This activity, depending on the method used, is performed based either on your consent (cookie tracking) or our legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6.1.f);

Additionally, we collect and process cookies deployed via the Facebook Pixel to track conversions from Facebook ads, optimize ads, build targeted audiences for future ads and remarket to people who have already taken some kind of action on our Website. This activity, depending on the method used, is performed based either on your consent (GDPR Art. 6.1.a) or our legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6.1.f).

Third-party access to information

We share your personal information with the following third parties:

  • website analytics providers to analyse the Website’s efficiency;
  • event(s) hosts;
  • recruiters and companies whose vacancies are made available on our Website.

In addition to the disclosures for the purposes identified before, we may disclose information about you:

  • if we are required to do so by law, in connection with any legal proceedings or to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights; and

Your rights

You have the right to know what personal data we process. As such you can obtain the disclosure of the data involved in the processing and you can obtain a copy of the information undergoing processing.

When you contest the accuracy of your information, believe we process it unlawfully or want to object to the processing, you have the right to temporarily stop the processing of your information to check if the processing was consistent. In this case, we will stop processing your data (other than storing it) until we are able to provide you with evidence of its lawful processing;

We will take all necessary measures to protect your information from unauthorised or accidental access, destruction, modification, blocking, copying, distribution, as well as from other illegal actions of third parties. As we use the services of third-party providers across countries outside of the European Union, we may transfer the collected data to those countries for further processing. In such cases, we will make sure that relevant safeguards are in place. More information on taken international safeguards can be provided upon request.

Immediate access to the data is only allowed to our authorised employees involved in maintaining the application. Such employees keep strict confidentiality and prevent unauthorised third-party access to personal information.

Other privacy commitments

We store your personal information for as long as required to fulfil the purposes described above.
